Xylazine & Psilocin Testing in Hair/Nail, Gabapentin & DXM Testing in Urine, And More Cannabinoids in ChildGuard®

New Analytes Available May 19, 2025
We’ve been hard at work innovating to deliver the latest advancements in substance use toxicology testing, ensuring you have access to the most accurate and reliable solutions. We are excited to announce new analyte detection in our hair, nail, ChildGuard®, and urine specimens!
Xylazine Testing in Hair and Nail Specimens – Exclusively at USDTL
We are the first laboratory to offer xylazine testing in hair and nail specimens. Helping our clients stay on top of the ever-changing landscape of substance use. Xylazine is a sedative approved for veterinary medicine but not approved for human consumption. It has been found as an adulterant, being added to street drugs like fentanyl and heroin. Unfortunately, medications like Narcan do not reverse the effects of xylazine. View the hair panels here and the nail panels here. Learn more here: https://nida.nih.gov/research-topics/xylazine
Psilocin Testing in Hair and Nail Specimens
We are adding psilocin testing to hair and nail specimens. Psilocin is the active metabolite of psilocybin and an alkaloid found naturally in certain types of psychedelic mushrooms. Learn more about psilocin here. View the hair panels here and the nail panels here.
Extended Cannabinoid Testing in ChildGuard
To provide more options for our ChildGuard® cannabinoid testing, we will be adding the following analytes: hexahydrocannabinol (HHC),
Δ9-tetrahydrocannabiphoral (THCP), Δ8-tetrahydrocannabiphoral (THCP), and cannabidiphorol (CBDP). View the ChildGuard panels here.
Gabapentin Testing in Urine
Gabapentin is a prescribed anticonvulsant that is commonly used to treat seizures, nerve pain, and restless leg syndrome, often in combination with other medications. View the urine panels here.
Dextromethorphan Testing in Urine
According to the DEA, “Dextromethorphan (DXM) is a cough suppressant found in more than 120 over-the-counter (OTC) cold medications, either alone or in combination with other drugs such as analgesics (e.g., acetaminophen), antihistamines (e.g., chlorpheniramine), decongestants (e.g., pseudoephedrine), and/ or expectorants (e.g., guaifenesin).” View the urine panels here.
