Albert Berger brings more than two decades of executive leadership in toxicology, diagnostics, and forensic laboratory services to his role as CEO of United States Drug Testing Laboratories (USDTL). A seasoned operator and value creator, he has led multiple highly successful company acquisitions, guiding Redwood Toxicology Laboratory through three exits and Confirm Biosciences through two, generating significant returns for investors and stakeholders at each turn.

Albie joined USDTL in January 2025 following a strategic investment by Northlane Capital Partners, bringing a clear mandate to accelerate growth, modernize operations, and expand the company’s leadership position in forensic and clinical toxicology. Under his guidance, USDTL is advancing its testing methodologies, integrating automation to improve efficiency and turnaround times, and broadening its market footprint across healthcare sectors.

Prior to USDTL, Albie served as CEO of Confirm Biosciences, growing revenues from $12M to $25M and completing two acquisitions, first to Clinical Reference Laboratory for $25M and then to Healgen Scientific for $45M. Before that, he spent over a decade at Redwood Toxicology Laboratory, ultimately serving as EVP and General Manager and growing revenues from $12M to $105M through multiple ownership transitions, including acquisitions by American Capital Strategies for $80M and Alere for $100M, before RTL was absorbed into Abbott Laboratories as part of Abbott’s $5.3B acquisition of Alere. Britany Ramey

Britany found her start in client services with USDTL and worked her way up to her current position. Michelle McGraw

Senior Business Development Manager

Michelle McGraw is a Senior Business Development Manager at USDTL, where she partners with hospitals and health systems nationwide to deliver reliable, fast-turnaround toxicology testing solutions. Her primary focus is newborn drug testing, including meconium and umbilical cord tissue send-outs, helping labor and delivery, NICU, and laboratory teams implement testing programs that support both clinical decision-making and patient care. Michelle also works with clients on USDTL’s broader testing menu, including hair, fingernail, urine, and point-of-care drug and alcohol testing. 

 Known for building strong, long-term partnerships, Michelle takes a consultative approach with every client, working to understand each facility’s unique workflow before recommending the right testing solution. She prides herself on being a responsive, knowledgeable resource for the hospitals she works with, whether that means walking a team through panel options, coordinating onboarding, or simply being a reliable point of contact long after the paperwork is signed. 

 When she’s not partnering with hospitals across the country, Michelle enjoys playing pickleball, snowboarding, and traveling.

Heath Lewis

National Account Business Development Manager

Heath Lewis brings more than 13 years of experience in the diagnostics industry, spanning clinical toxicology, laboratory operations, and strategic business development. Beginning his career in the Clinical Toxicology Laboratory at ARUP Laboratories, Heath earned his C(ASCP)CM certification while gaining hands-on experience with mass spectrometry, laboratory automation, specimen extraction, and high-complexity clinical testing. This technical foundation provides him with a deep understanding of the science, quality standards, and operational challenges that clinical laboratories face every day. 

 Transitioning into business development, Heath managed a multi-state territory for ARUP Laboratories, partnering with hospitals, health systems, and reference laboratories to develop diagnostic solutions that improved patient care and laboratory operations. He later expanded his diagnostics experience by joining an international diagnostics company, where he supported the commercialization of innovative nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technology and collaborated with healthcare organizations to advance precision diagnostics. 

Today, Heath brings his unique combination of laboratory expertise and commercial leadership to USDTL, where he partners with researchers, reference laboratories, health systems, and strategic industry partners to advance innovative toxicology testing solutions. He also supports enterprise initiatives and laboratory implementations, helping organizations successfully integrate new testing programs while building long-term partnerships that improve patient care. His firsthand understanding of clinical laboratory operations, combined with extensive business development experience, allows him to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and the practical needs of laboratories and healthcare organizations. 

Outside of work, Heath enjoys reading, creating art, playing the guitar, exploring the outdoors in his Jeep, camping, and snowboarding.

Katanya Woods

Katanya Woods has more than 30 years of experience in the laboratory industry, spanning reference laboratories, hospital laboratories, and now a forensic testing environment. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in laboratory operations, specimen processing, accessioning, and team leadership.

Having worked in multiple laboratory disciplines, Katanya has gained a comprehensive understanding of laboratory workflows from specimen receipt and handling through specimen processing. Her experience includes leadership in high-volume operations, implementing process improvements, training and mentoring staff, and leading cross-functional teams.

One of Katanya’s greatest professional passions is workflow design and operational efficiency. She enjoys evaluating laboratory processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance productivity, improve quality, and create a better experience for employees and customers alike.

As a laboratory leader, Katanya believes in developing strong teams, fostering collaboration, and creating systems that support both operational excellence and employee growth. Sheryll Marasigan serves as Client Services Manager, bringing more than 25 years of experience in customer service and organizational leadership. Having grown with the company, taking on a variety of roles and responsibilities that gave her a deep understanding of its operations, she has been instrumental in establishing and developing the Client Services department. Mario Pasamba

LIMS and Salesforce Manager

A chemist at heart, Mario began his career in the pharmaceuticals industry. During those years on the bench and as a stability study manager, his favorite side hustle had always been performing computer systems validations as an admin for LIMS and other laboratory software applications. Mario took that experience and knowledge to the IT team at USDTL where he could do computer stuff full-time.

Since 2013, Mario has helped grow USDTL over the years by providing countless automations and improvements to workflow processes with an eye on efficiency. A self-professed data guy, he geeks out when given the opportunity to design a new report, develop and implement an API, or deliver data to help drive important business decisions.

Andre Sukta

Research and Development Manager

Andre Sukta is the research and development manager at USDTL, a laboratory specializing in non-traditional matrices. He is currently charged with expanding, improving, and increasing efficiency of the methods used at USDTL. He joined USDTL in early 2013 as our Laboratory Supervisor, bringing more than a decade of forensic toxicology expertise with him.

Andre received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (Forensics concentration) in 2002 from Benedictine University, Lisle, IL. In 2009, he received his Masters of Science degree in Forensic Science from University of Illinois at Chicago. He has co-authored several peer-reviewed research articles, including papers in the Journal of Analytical Toxicology and Forensic Science International.

In 2002, Andre began his career in toxicology as a Forensic Scientist with the Illinois Racing Board Laboratory. Since then, he has worked with various toxicology groups, including University of Illinois at Chicago – College of Pharmacy, Indiana University – College of Medicine, and the Indiana State Department of Toxicology.

Andre Sukta is a member of the Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT), the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), Chicago Chromatography Discussion Group (CCDG), and the Midwest Association of Toxicology and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (MATT). He has taken on many leadership roles, including serving as a Director for the Society of Forensic Toxicologists, an Executive Board member for the Alcohol, Drugs, and Impairment Division of the National Safety Council. He is also a member and past chair of the Section on Cannabis within the Alcohol, Drug, and Impairment Division of the National Safety Council. He is also cohosting the 2026 Joint Annual Meeting of Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT) and The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT).

Mary Jones

Mass Spectrometry Manager

With 29 years of experience in the field of forensic toxicology, Mary Jones has seen the industry evolve from a field primarily focused on Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry to one that is now almost exclusively centered on Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry.

Mary began her career at CompuChem Laboratories in Research Triangle Park, NC, where she worked in Quality Control, Mass Spectrometry, and Certification. Through mergers and acquisitions, CompuChem became what is known today as LabCorp.

Achieving certification as a Toxicological Chemist through the National Registry of Certified Chemists and maintaining that certification has been a highlight of Mary’s career.

Mary has a passion for the work she does, the people she works with, and the instrumentation in the laboratory. Being able to answer a question, train someone in a new task, or figure out a problem is where she likes to put her talent to use.

Mary likes to watch sports, especially the Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Browns, and Carolina Hurricanes. She enjoys golfing and hopes to get back on the course soon.

Mary’s family is her most important hobby, and doing things with them is very special to her. She also loves her dog, Penny Marie.

Liaqat Ali Abbas

Certification Department Manager

Liaqat Ali Abbas is a senior leader in forensic toxicology with over 30 years of experience in analytical testing, certification, and laboratory oversight. As Head of the Certification Department at United States Drug Testing Laboratories (USDTL), he ensures the integrity and accuracy of forensic drug testing results for healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, and child and family services. Abbas brings deep expertise in GC/MS and LC/MS/MS technologies, team leadership, and regulatory compliance, and frequently provides expert witness testimony in support of forensic findings.

David Farber

Director of Human Resources

David is the Director of Human Resources with over 20 years of experience across multiple industries. He is a relationship-focused, hands-on leader known for implementing best practices that strengthen organizational effectiveness.

David brings deep expertise in recruiting, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and employment law compliance. He is a collaborative communicator who builds credibility and strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

Donna Coy, PhD

Laboratory Director

Donna Coy, PhD, NRCC-TC serves as Laboratory Director at United States Drug Testing Laboratories, where she brings over 14 years of experience in forensic toxicology. A detail-oriented scientist with deep technical expertise, Dr. Coy specializes in alternative biological matrices, including oral fluid, umbilical cord tissue, meconium, hair, and nail, supporting advanced applications in drug testing and toxicological analysis.

In her leadership role, Dr. Coy is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient day-to-day operations across the laboratory, collaborating in method development to advance testing capabilities, and providing expert witness testimony in legal and forensic settings. Her work reflects a commitment to scientific rigor, accuracy, and the highest standards of laboratory quality.

Dr. Coy earned her Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science from Eastern Kentucky University and her PhD in Toxicology from the University of Kentucky. She is certified as a Toxicological Chemist by the National Registry of Certified Chemists (NRCC), demonstrating her professional excellence and dedication to the field.

She is an active member of the Society of Forensic Toxicology (SOFT) and the Midwestern Association for Toxicology and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (MATT). Dr. Coy has also contributed to the advancement of the profession through her leadership within MATT, serving on its board from 2021 to 2024 and as President from 2022 to 2023.

Steve Stange

Vice President Sales & Marketing

Steve Stange is Vice President of Sales & Marketing at United States Drug Testing Laboratory (USDTL), bringing more than three decades of leadership experience across the diagnostics and drug testing industries.

Prior to joining USDTL, Steve served as Senior Vice President at Credence Global Solutions, a leading provider of revenue cycle management services for the clinical laboratory community. Under his leadership, Credence grew from a startup into a $50 million annual revenue organization within five years.

Earlier in his career, Steve was Sales Officer and Vice President at Laboratory Corporation of America (Labcorp), the nation’s largest independent clinical laboratory. In this role, he led significant organic growth initiatives and multiple acquisitions while overseeing a broad portfolio of testing services, including clinical and anatomic pathology, genetics, infectious disease, allergy, toxicology, and oncology.

Steve began his professional career as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps and served with distinction during the First Persian Gulf War.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stetson University, with a major in History and a minor in Religious Studies.

Bill Soukup

Chief Financial Officer

Bill Soukup is Chief Financial Officer at United States Drug Testing Laboratory (USDTL), bringing more than 20 years of financial management experience across multiple industries and global companies.

Prior to joining USDTL, Bill served as Vice President of Finance at Sound Physicians, a physician services staffing organization partnering with hospitals nationwide. Prior to that, Bill worked at Duly Health and Care, General Electric and Siemens.

Bill attended Indiana University for his undergrad studies and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
