Hair ethyl glucuronide (EtG) as a long-term alcohol biomarker

• determining the dynamics of EtG in hair and fingernails by studying its dose response to alcohol uptake in alcohol-consuming college students; measuring the half-time of its washout rate from hair and fingernails in a population of volunteers undergoing residential treatment in an alcohol abuse recovery program. The data obtained from this study will establish hair EtG’s utility as a long-term alcohol biomarker.
