MecStatSM Alcohol

Until now, identifying and treating neonates exposed to alcohol during gestation was problematic. Maternal urine tests provided only a snapshot, and fetal tests were undependable. Now USDTL introduces - MecStatSM EtOH. By performing GC/MS analysis on meconium, and detecting fatty acid ethyl esters, the scientists at USDTL can identify up to a 20 week history of fetal alcohol exposure.

MecStatSM EtOH helps clinicians and their teams identify at risk newborns virtually within 48 hours of birth. With this information, health care professionals can develop appropriate plans to optimize care and maximize use of health care resources.
