PEthStat®

Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) is a mid- to long-term biomarker measurable in blood samples after consumption of approximately 200 grams of alcohol. An individual consuming one drink per day for six days to seven days a week will produce a positive result. PEth can be measured for two weeks to three weeks following the most recent alcohol consumption.

USDTL released PEthStat® to compliment the UrineStat® EtG/EtS test to discriminate between incidental exposure and alcohol ingestion. The volume of alcohol required to trigger a positive PEth result is far above the level available from incidental exposure. USDTL is the only reference laboratory offering this unique combination of alcohol biomarkers.
