USDTL offers broad test panels in a variety of sample matrices. USDTL tests hair, nails, blood, urine, oral fluid, meconium, umbilical cord sections and other tissues for the presence of illicit drugs and alcohol. Specific drug testing services from USDTL allow outreach laboratories a much broader test package to meet customer needs. USDTL’s New Applications Department introduces new assays on a routine basis. Markets served include newborn drug and alcohol testing, pre-employment, for cause and random testing. Drug treatment programs will find the broad 12-, 14- and 15-drug panels in hair, nails, urine and oral fluid beneficial. The new BloodStat^SM assays will support the needs of the court systems to monitor blood drug levels. USDTL currently tests more than 50 drugs in urine, and custom panels may be developed to meet specific client needs. USDTL is a leader in alcohol biomarker development. Laboratory test methods measure ethanol in urine, meconium and oral fluid. Research projects are ongoing to develop new alcohol markers in hair and bloodspot samples.
