Company Profile

Since 1991, United States Drug Testing Laboratories (USDTL) and its dba MecStat Laboratories have provided client services worldwide for healthcare facilities, child protection agencies, the Department of Defense, legal services, businesses and clinical and forensic laboratories.

USDTL is certified for testing
  • Hair for substance abuse
  • Urine for substance abuse
  • Oral fluid for substance abuse
  • Newborn's meconium for fetal alcohol and drug exposure

USDTL has made significant breakthroughs in the field of analytical toxicology by developing procedures to diagnose newborns for prenatal drug exposure using meconium specimens, and to provide workplace drug testing cost effectively using hair specimens. Current testing methodologies, which utilizes urine samples, provides a limited history of one to three days of past drug use just prior the collection of a urine specimen. USDTL's workplace testing procedure uses hair. This procedure, called HairStatSM, offers a greatly enhanced historical record of up to three months of drug exposure. This extends the diagnostic window of detection of drug exposure to the three months of history prior to the collection of the hair specimen. USDTL's proprietary method for hair testing for drugs of abuse was developed by USDTL.

USDTL is certified by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the New York State Department of Health.
